Who We Are
The River Run Network is a program that honors the heritage of our arroyos, creeks, and rivers and the value that water holds for the peoples of Southern Arizona. We invite people of all ages, diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds, beliefs, and many other diverse communities to participate in restoring our heritage of seasonal and year-round water flows.
RRN membership is free and includes a biweekly email with invitations to creek walks, family education events, river clean-ups, restoration workshops, and advocacy events to help restore our heritage of flowing rivers.
Take Action
Help Remove Invasive Species
Our teams remove arundo from river and streambeds and replant the areas with native trees.
Become a Flow 365 Monitor
Be part of our community science effort and help track the flow of Tucson's creeks and rivers!
Release the Beavers!
Help beavers reclaim their role as a keystone species in the Santa Cruz and San Pedro watersheds! Wiped out by trappers in the 1800s, they are returning to restore out desert rivers.

Envisioning the River Run Network
In August 2017, our Co-Founder and Executive Director Lisa Shipek was selected to participate in Social Venture Partner’s (SVP) Fast Pitch program. After a competitive grant round, she was chosen to pitch the River Run Network based on WMG's passion for improving the community and our innovative solutions to society’s most difficult challenges. In the three years SVP had been running the program at that time, WMG was the first “environmental” organization selected.
At the Nov. 9 event, Lisa and WMG's River Run Network earned the SVP Tucson Award, with a prize of $10K!
